ERIN, Wis. (March 16, 2010) –
One lucky couple plans to exchange vows at 9 a.m., March 17,
during the oldest and largest St. Patrick’s celebration in Wisconsin,
at Tally Ho Pub & Grill in Erin, Wis. – the biggest Irish town in the state.
Shannon Ihnen, of Irish decent, and Nicole Renz met three years ago
March in their hometown, Ixonia.
They knew getting married on March 17 would be memorable.
“We wanted our wedding to be quaint while making it fun for friends and family,” said Renz.
“The beautiful scenery the
Holy Hill area is known for will make the perfect backdrop to our special day.”
Guests will gather for the ceremony in the upstairs hall at Tally Ho, 1855 State Highway 83,
with an evening reception to follow,
where, of course, green beer will be served, along with corned beef and cabbage and live bagpipe music.
The restaurant’s first floor,
in addition to an outdoor 3,200 sq. ft. heated tent, will be open to the general public.
Settled by Irish immigrants in 1846, Erin has kept its Irish traditions -
including the oldest parade in the state,
which kicks off at 11 a.m. on County Trunk K.
